Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board-NET
General Information:
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established on 1 November 1973 as an independent recruitment agency in pursuance of the recommendations of the Gajendragadkar Committee which functions under the Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE) under Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India.
ASRB conduct various exams for different posts like Administrative Officer (AO) and Finance & Accounts Officer(F&AO), Assistant director (official language)- AD(OL), ASRB-NET, ARS, ASRB-STO and ASRB-SMS
ASRB-NET
ASRB NET is conducted to recruit Lecturers/ Assistant Professors in State Agricultural Universities and other Agricultural Universities. Those having master's degrees and related academic backgrounds can take this exam to be considered for several discipline roles. This test is qualifying in nature, it gives candidates access to apply for the vacancies released by different state agricultural universities or other universities. ASRB NET exam pattern is relatively simple compared to other NETs. This exam basically screens candidates based on their knowledge and understanding of their chosen disciplines.
NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates in digital format through DigiLocker app to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/other Agricultural Universities. SAUs/Aus will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfilment of all prescribed eligibility condition/ criterion for requisite posts of Lecturers/Assistant Professors including authenticity of the NET Certificate in the possession of the candidates.

Nationality:
A candidate must be either:-
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a citizen of Nepal, or
(iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification: The candidates must be a Master’s degree or equivalent with specialization in the respective discipline from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or any other Act of Parliament established educational institution or declared to be deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or the candidate must have a qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the govt. of India (GoI).
