Exam Pattern

1. Total Subjects 37 (13 Indian languages + 23 domain specific + 01 General Aptitude test)
2. Choice of Subject For CUET (ICAR-UG), candidates must appear in at least three relevant domain subjects from Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Mathematics (M), Biology (B), and Agriculture/Inter-Agriculture (A).

Note: The subjects chosen for the CUET (ICAR-UG) examination must be the same subjects that the candidate studied and passed in Class XII. Candidates appearing in subjects different from those studied and passed in Class XII will not be considered for ICAR counselling or admission.
3. Mode of Examination Computer Based Test (CBT) mode
4. Total Questions 50 questions for each test paper. All questions are compulsory.
5. Duration Duration of each test paper would be 60** minutes.
6. Shift The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts, depending on the number of Candidates and Subject choice.
7. Marking Scheme
  • Correct Answer: +5 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: −1 mark
  • Unanswered Question: 0 marks

⚠️ Important Eligibility Rules

1. Core Subject Requirement: A candidate must have studied and passed at least three of the five subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Agriculture/Inter-Agriculture) as core subjects in Class XII.

2. Subject Matching Rule: For ICAR counselling, the subjects chosen for CUET (UG) must exactly correspond to the subjects studied and passed by the candidate in Class XII.

The Questions in the test shall be based on the syllabus prescribed by the NTA for CUET (ICAR UG) and is available on the official portal:

For Agriculture and Allied Sciences, ICAR considers these five subjects:

Important Rule: A candidate must have studied at least three of these five subjects as core subjects in Class 12, and the CUET subjects you appear for must correspond to subjects you actually studied in Class 12.

ICAR Counselling Process

Online Registration

Candidates must register on the official website of the ICAR portal using their CUET-UG application details.

Profile Completion

Fill all the required personal, academic, and communication details accurately.

Choice Filling

Select preferred ICAR-approved universities and Farm Sciences programmes in the correct order of your preference.

Seat Allotment

Seats are allotted based on CUET-UG merit, category, preferences filled, and the availability of seats.

Seat Acceptance

Candidates who receive a seat must confirm the admission by paying the prescribed fees within the specified timeline of the university.

University Reporting

Finally, students must report to the allotted university for document verification and the completion of admission and formalities.

Documents Required for Counselling and Admission

8. Provisional Admission letter issued by the admitting university
9. Passport size colour photographs same as uploaded at the time of online application to NTA.
10. Aadhaar card or 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID proof / copy of passport / ration card / bank passbook or any other valid Govt. Identity proof as applicable
11. Domicile certificate
12. Character Certificate from the school last attended.
13. Copy of SC, ST, UPS, OBC (NCL) and Gen-EWS category certificate as per Central Govt. requirements and issued by Competent Authority
14. Medical certificate in case of Persons with Benchmark Disability (Pw BD) candidate issued by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital along with description of the kind and the degree of disability.

Strict Eligibility Rules

Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (12th Standard) with at least three subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Agriculture / Inter-Agriculture as core courses.

Candidate(s) who appears in subject(s) different than the one which s(he) passed in 12th standard will not be considered for counselling / admission and will stand rejected.

The candidates must attempt only those subjects (at least 3 subjects) in the examination as per the choice given in the Application / Registration Form. Therefore, they must exercise the choice of subjects very carefully.

Age Limit

Indian Nationals of at least 16 years of age are eligible to apply for the examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.

CUET (UG) 2026 online registration is available online at https://cuet.nta.nic.in once after the release of notification during the month of January.
