General Information

ICAR - All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA) - (PG) is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in 89 cities all over the country enabling participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission in Master degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines.

  • Students for 30% seats in Master’s degree programmes in AUs are admitted through ICAR AIEEA PG Exam.
  • All (100%) seats of the four ICAR-DUs (IARI, IVRI, NDRI, CIFE) and CAUs (RLBCAU, Dr. RPCAU) are filled through this examination.
  • Not more than 40% candidates from any one state shall be admitted in any agricultural university in a particular subject and category.

Fellowship & Stats

  • ICAR PG Scholarship (JRF): ₹ 12,640/- per month together with a contingent grant of ₹ 6,000/- per year for 2 years.
  • NTS (PG): ₹ 5,000/- per month for two years provided they join Master’s degree in an AU located in a different state.
  • Students Appearing: During 2023, 27,358 candidates registered and 24,948 candidates appeared.

Eligibility & OGPA Requirements

Important Academic Rules

  • The candidates having Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ duration will not be considered for admission through ICAR AIEEA (PG) in AUs except in few courses at two ICAR-DUs (IARI and NDRI). Alternate Eligibility Qualification at Bachelors level for IARI/NDRI is B.Sc. (10+2+3 system).
  • ICAR will not be responsible for admitting students from a particular college/university derecognized by VCI/UGC or Court directives.
  • The candidates who do not have the Degree/PDC, must mandatorily produce a certificate from the Registrar specifically indicating fulfillment of all requirements (thesis, viva-voce, final OGPA) on or before document verification.
  • Age Limit: Indian Nationals not below 19 years are eligible. No age relaxation is permissible.
  • New Rule (From 2023): Previously a student could not pursue UG, PG and PhD degrees from the same university. Now, a student can pursue all three degrees from the same university.
